Yoga Nidra"pure relaxation"
Yoga Nidra (the yoga sleep) is a guided meditation and visualisation where your mind remains alert whilst your body sinks into a deep rest. During Yoga Nidra the consciousness floats between sleeping and waking. Only the senses of feeling and listening are ‘ON’. During the first few times of practice, you might fall asleep. But just remember, one hour of Yoga Nidra equals 3 to 4 hours of sleep!
What does a class look like?
You are invited to completely relax on your own ‘bed’ (mat, pillow and blanket). The teacher leads you through a guided meditation and visualisation into full relaxation. Your simply have to listen to her voice and directions and the rest comes naturally. After an hour, you ‘awake’ from a deep state of mental and physical rest.
What are the benefits?
- This ancient meditative technique relieves physical, mental and emotional stress or restlessness, and completely calms your senses and nervous system.
- Your night’s sleep will improve, you’ll relax more easily and you’ll be more in touch with yourself.
